Most people think child traffickers look evil. 

They don’t. 

Sometimes they look like a teacher. 

Sometimes they look like a cruise ship worker smiling at families on vacation. 

Sometimes they even dress like Santa Claus. 

That is the terrifying truth America is waking up to. And sadly, the news today reminds us why this mission matters so much.

• High School math teacher among 89 arrested in human trafficking operation. 

Three different stories. 
Three different places. 

But all convey one chilling truth ties them all together: 

The people who prey on children are hiding in plain sight.

My name is Eduardo Verástegui. 

I am the producer of Sound of Freedom and founder of the Sound of Freedom Foundation. 

Years ago, after hearing firsthand stories about trafficked children, my life changed forever. 

What I learned broke my heart. 

Children were being bought and sold like products. 

And most people had no idea this darkness existed. Thart's why I helped create the Sound of Freedom film. 

Not for fame. Not for Hollywood. 

But because I believed people needed to see the truth. 

Many people told us the movie would fail. 

Studios rejected it. Doors closed. 
But I could not stay silent. 

When innocent children are suffering, silence becomes part of the problem. 

Recently, while accepting the Catholic Champion Award, I shared the promise that still guides my life today: 

“I made a promise to God, to dedicate my life to ending child trafficking because God’s children are not for sale.” 

That promise became the Sound of Freedom Foundation. 

Today, we are working to protect vulnerable children through prevention, rescue support, education, awareness, and advocacy.

• We help strengthen struggling families before traffickers can target their children. 
  
  
• We equip trusted partners working to rescue exploited children. 
  
  
• We educate parents and communities about warning signs predators use to groom and manipulate children. 
  
  
• We advocate for stronger laws to protect innocent lives.

Jesus said: 

“Let the little children come to me… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14) 

Every child is created by God with dignity. 

Every child deserves safety. 

And every one of us has a choice: 

Look away or stand up and protect them.
